Project Development & Economic Impact

The project proposes self-contained off grid power generation to supply data center customers based on demand. There is sufficient gas supply available to generate 3,500MW.
Phase 1 of the project is projected to generate $20-30 million in tax revenue annually, which could be used for local infrastructure and community improvements.
Job Creation & Economic Impact
The project will generate 360 full-time data center jobs, 150 power plant positions, and 1,200 construction jobs during the buildout..
The additional revenue from the data center could eliminate the need for tax increases, providing a boost to the county’s economy. Mecklenburg County used revenue from a similar project to fund new schools.
Commitments
Zoning will be dedicated solely to data centers and power generation; if the project is no completed, the zoning will revert to agricultural and residential use.
The project commits to fund infrastructure improvements, including a new water treatment facility, fire hydrants, and utility support.
A decommissioning plan is in place to ensure responsible closure of the facility if needed.
